Dental Implants in Bangkok from THB 42,000 at La Posh Dental Clinic
In short: A dental implant replaces a missing tooth root with a small post in the jawbone, topped with a crown. It is placed under local anaesthetic, then takes about 3–6 months to bond with the bone before the crown is fitted. At La Posh Dental Clinic, implants start at THB 42,000 per tooth. Implants are not suitable for people under 18. Care is provided by Dr. Nichanan Katisawatwong (license ท.15320).

Why choose an implant?

An implant replaces a missing tooth without cutting down neighbouring teeth, as a bridge would. Because it sits in the bone, it helps you chew close to normally and helps preserve the bone where the tooth was lost.

Who is suitable?

  • Adults (18+) missing one or more teeth
  • Enough healthy bone, or bone that can be grafted
  • Healthy gums
  • Conditions such as diabetes well controlled – tell the dentist about your health and medicines
  • Smokers are advised to stop, as smoking raises the risk of failure

Types of implant treatment

  • Conventional implant: the implant is placed first, then the crown is fitted after it has bonded with the bone. Suitable for one or several teeth.
  • Immediate implant: the implant is placed straight after the tooth is extracted. After about 3–6 months of healing, a crown or bridge is fitted.
  • Immediate loaded implant: a temporary or permanent crown is attached to the implant soon after placement. Suitable for people with strong jawbone.

What an implant is made of

  • Fixture: a titanium screw placed in the jawbone that works like a natural tooth root.
  • Abutment: the connector between the fixture and the crown.
  • Crown: the visible tooth, made of ceramic in a natural shape and shade.

Who should wait or avoid implants?

  • People under 18, because the jawbone is still growing
  • Heavy smokers, who have a higher risk of infection and of the implant not bonding
  • People with severe osteoporosis, who may need extra steps such as bone grafting or a sinus lift, decided by a specialist

Lost the tooth a long time ago? Whether it was a few months or 5–10 years ago, an implant is often still possible. The dentist checks how much jawbone is left; if there is not enough, bone grafting may be suggested.

Frequently asked questions

How much does a dental implant cost in Bangkok at La Posh?

From THB 42,000 per tooth. Bone grafting or a sinus lift, if needed, adds to the cost.

Does implant surgery hurt?

Local anaesthetic is used, so you should not feel pain during the procedure. Afterwards some pain or swelling can be managed with medication and usually eases within 1–2 days.

How long does the whole process take?

Usually about 3–6 months from placement to the final crown, because the implant needs time to bond with the bone.

Can I have implants if I have diabetes or osteoporosis?

With well-controlled diabetes, implants are possible. With osteoporosis, your medication needs to be considered. Tell your dentist about your conditions and medicines.

Does everyone need a bone graft?

No. It is only done when there is not enough bone where the implant will go.

How long do implants last?

With proper care they can last a long time. It depends on oral hygiene, check-ups and habits.

I lost my tooth years ago. Can I still get an implant?

Often yes, even after 5–10 years. The dentist assesses the remaining jawbone; if there is not enough, bone grafting may be needed first.

If the crown on my implant breaks, does the implant need to be replaced?

Usually not. The dentist can remove the damaged crown and fit a new one on the same implant.

Are implants harder to look after than natural teeth?

No. Brush at least twice a day, floss daily and keep regular check-ups, the same as for natural teeth.
