Why treat early?
A child’s jaw is still growing, so it can be guided more easily than an adult’s. Early treatment can make room for adult teeth, correct crossbites and habits such as thumb sucking, and may reduce the need for extractions or surgery later. Orthodontic work is led by Dr. Lalita Rutchakitprakarn, orthodontist (license ท.9453), MSc in Orthodontics from National Yang-Ming University (Taiwan).
Signs your child may need an orthodontic check
- Crowded or crooked adult teeth coming in
- Upper teeth far in front of, or behind, the lower teeth
- Crossbite or a jaw that shifts when biting
- Mouth breathing or a long-term thumb-sucking habit
- Baby teeth lost very early or very late

Prices do not include the 3D scan and X-rays (THB 4,900); for fixed braces, dental impressions (THB 2,900) can be used instead of a scan. Phase I can be paid in installments after a THB 5,000 deposit. Extra appliances beyond the first cost THB 8,000 each.

When should my child see an orthodontist?
At about age 7, when adult teeth start coming through and problems can be spotted early.
How much do braces for children cost?
Phase I starts at THB 35,000 (moderate THB 45,000, complex THB 65,000). Smartee Kinder is THB 129,000 and Invisalign First THB 139,000.
Do all baby teeth need to fall out first?
Not always. If a problem affects chewing or jaw development, treatment may start before all baby teeth are lost.
How is it different from adult braces?
Children are still growing, so the jaw can be guided more easily than in adults.
Do braces hurt children?
There may be mild discomfort at first or after adjustments, which usually settles in 2–3 days.
Can my child play sports?
Yes. With clear aligners they can be removed; with regular braces, a mouthguard is recommended.
