How metal braces work
Small metal brackets are bonded to each tooth and connected by an archwire held with elastic ties. The wire applies steady, controlled force, and at each monthly visit the dentist changes the ties and adjusts the wire so the teeth move step by step according to the plan. Orthodontic work is led by Dr. Lalita Rutchakitprakarn, orthodontist (license ท.9453), MSc in Orthodontics from National Yang-Ming University (Taiwan).

Living with metal braces
- Expect some soreness for 2–3 days after fitting and after adjustments
- Avoid hard, sticky and chewy food that can break brackets
- Brush carefully around each bracket and use interdental brushes; book regular scaling
- If a bracket or wire comes loose, contact the clinic

How much do metal braces cost in Bangkok at La Posh?
Standard metal braces are THB 40,000, plus THB 20,000 for extraction cases. The 3D scan and X-rays (THB 4,900) or impressions (THB 2,900) are separate.
Can I pay in installments?
Yes. Metal braces can be paid during treatment, about THB 2,000 per month. Ask either branch for the payment schedule.
How often do I see the dentist?
About once a month, to change the elastic ties and adjust the wire.
How long does treatment take?
Usually about 1.5–3 years, depending on how much the teeth need to move.
Do metal braces hurt?
You may feel pressure or soreness for a few days after fitting and adjustments. It usually settles within 2–3 days.
Do I need a retainer afterwards?
Yes. A retainer keeps the teeth in their new position after the braces come off.
